The Romeo and Juliet Code

The Romeo and Juliet Code
By: Phoebe Stone
Book Review #2
Felicity, or Flissy for short really hates staying with her distant relatives in Bottlebay, Maine, especially since she is away from her Winnie and Danny. World War Two is more dangerous than ever with air raids in England almost every day.  None of this matters to Flissy now, Flissy is convinced that her mom and dad are not in England like they said but in Portugal. This isn’t the worst of it, the worst is she met Derek, Derek is her first major crush. This isn’t any old crush either; Captain Derek is dashing as they say in England, with a “lovely, big beaming smile that went nicely with his grainy brown-sugar eyes. And his smile gave me that British coal fire feeling. I had to look away because maybe this time I would cry.” (Stone, Phoebe)                                                                                                                                               A letter comes in the mail from Portugal, but it’s all in code, and Flissy and Derek can’t figure it out. Flissy and Derek team up to figure out the code, the first thing they figure out is the code comes from Romeo and Juliet. Soon, it’s Christmas and Flissy has a big present to give to Uncle Gideon, a letter from Winnie that says:
Dearest Gideon,                                                                                                                                       If you haven’t heard from me by November, please tell Felicity everything. EVERYTHING! She must know, we can’t keep this from her any longer.                                                                                   Yours,                                                                                                                                                                                        Winnie.
Will Flissy be able to figure out the code and find her Winnie and Danny?
