Travel Team

By: Mike Lupica

Book #2
The travel team is a book for readers who enjoy basketball, or sports in general. Danny Walker may be the smallest kid on the court, but don’t tell him that. Because no one plays with a bigger love of the game. Or a better sense of how to hit the open player with the perfect pass. Which is why his world shatters when he is cut from the traveling team for being too small. Honestly size should not matter. Not just any travel team either, the very same one his father had led to the national championship.
Turns out Danny wasn’t the only kid cut for the wrong reason. And Danny’s father is about to give them all a second chance. After washing out of the NBA, Richie Walker washed out of life, too. But together, these castoffs prove something Danny knew all along: “You can’t measure heart”.
Danny is a small but mighty kid. Size does not matter and don’t let anybody tell you different. This book will tell you that you could be 5’3 and you could still be a starter on the traveling team. You don’t have to be like LeBron James.

  1. You did a great job explaining how Danny feels about this. Great job on this. I'm going to have to check this book out.
