Warriors: Power of Three #1: The Sight

          The new series is beginning. The characters have changed from Brambleclaw and Leafpool to Squirrelflights kittens; Jaypaw, Lionpaw, and Hollypaw. The leader, Firestar, receives a prophecy he doesn’t understand. It is, “there will be three, kin of your kin, who hold the power of the stars in their paws.”  

          These kittens seem normal. Playing, fighting, and competing like normal kittens. There is one thing different. Jaypaw can go into other cats dreams, and he’s blind. Everyone says he will be a wonderful medicine cat and give him special treatment. All he wants is to be treated normal and to become a warrior. Seems kind of impossible for a blind cat, the thing is it’s as if he isn’t blind because his other senses are heightened.

          One night Jaypaw decides to wonder into Firestar’s dream and hears the prophecy. To a blind cat who wants to be known for more than a problem, this is exciting. He starts to feel powerful and a little ambitious. He believes he and his siblings are destined for greatness. Is Tigerstar, the now deceased threat to Thunderclan, going to use this opportunity to get revenge on his clan? What about the prophecy, is Jaypaw right?
