They Cage the Animals at Night

All Jennings wanted was to be normal. He wanted a normal family and a normal day. But that was impossible for him, he was a part-timer. Jennings has five brothers George, Walter, Jermone, Larry, and Gene, all of them are different. George is the oldest, and the drunkest, he gets in fights all the time with his mom, siblings, and others. Walter is next he is a genius and does everything he can to protect his family. Then there is Jermone, Jennings never really talked to Jermone because he has a heart problem and has to live at the hospital. Larry and Jennings are super close they share the secrets of being a part-timer, that is until Larry turns into George. Gene is the baby, he always gets what he wants when he wants it.
Jennings mother is sick, really sick. She needs help but they aren't sure on what kind of help. All they know is that she needs help fast. She is suicidal and is very depressed. Jennings and Walter hate to see their mom like this. It scares them.
Jennings is an amazing little boy who grows up to be an even more amazing man. He became a police officer and adopted his daughter. As he says in the book, "shes one less animal to cage at night."
