Silent Room
By: Walter Sorrells
A boy named Oswald, had his father
die at a young age and his mother is remarried to an abusive Don. His step
father, Don, lies and frames him for beating up three kids and all sorts of
other events. He is taken to a therapist who makes him do push-ups and reads
magazines. His life couldn’t get worse, or could it?
Oz and his family lived very
peacefully until his dad died a young age. His mom’s gets remarried to Don. Don
sounds like a nice guy when Oz’s mom’s around but when she leaves, he turns
abusive and makes Oz “wrestle” him, which is more of Don pinning him over and
over. Oz is later taken to a therapist, Mr. Childers, who says straight up that
Oz doesn’t care how he feels and makes
him do push-ups. After wrestling with Don, Oz has become strong and developed a
temper. He got a D in geometry and when a nerd makes fun of him he explodes and
punches him. At dinner while talking about the fight Don lies and clams he has
been in two other fights. His mom, who was in denial, sends him to a boarding
school requested by Don. Once at the school Oz realizes that the school is a
lot worse than wrestling with Don. As soon as he reaches the campus he runs
into the forest but the School has guard dogs that bring him back. He is locked
in his room until he can memorize 37 rules and then let into the school. He
will later face a terrible punishment, the silent room.
Can Oz go through this school before
he is driven mad? And what is the silent room? Silent room is a quick pace book
that will shock its readers by the harshness of Oz’s boarding school.

ReplyDeleteI really liked it but I felt like you repeated the first paragraph twice. But it had a lot of detail and enough information to get the point, but not give away the ending.
ReplyDeleteYou did a good job on the review. However there were a few mistakes but not a lot. Sounds like a good book
