Just One Day

Allyson’s life living with her mom is like her suitcase—packed,
organized, and all planned out. Allyson is goes to a school trip 2 weeks prior
to graduation. Just like usual, she was the goody goody and while everybody
else was out partying and drinking every night—because it is legal in Europe—she
was in her room watching TV. One day, everybody was going to a Shakespeare play
but in the long wait to the front of the building, her best friend, Mel, pretended
to have a heat stroke so they could go to a different play. There, Allyson meets
Willem. She got a coin from the show that he flipped at her.
Later, she and Willem meet again on a train. They instantly connect. He eventually asks her to go to Paris with him because she was ranting about how she didn't get to go to Paris on the trip to Paris. She says okay but is hesitant. Mel is super excited because Allyson is finally doing something bad. They plan it all out. They get only one day together. He gives her a tour around Paris and on a boat. For the night, they find an old art room on the 2nd story to sleep in. So they climbed. They slept there and when Allyson woke up the next day, and he was gone so she waited and waited and waited. He never came back. She ran out the door and onto the street trying to remember how to get around but failed. She eventually found a phone booth a couple blocks down. She called Mel’s aunt and, with her help, got to where she was supposed to be.

Back at
home when she got to college, she was the outcast and her grades were dropping
and her parents were always breathing down her neck. So, without them knowing,
she dropped a class and did a Shakespeare class instead. It was an easy A and
she finally got a friend with a weird sense of style. it was then that she realized she had to go back to Paris and find him. She needed answers. So, she signed up for a French class and she got a job to get money for the trip because her parents were no longer going to invest in her.
She does every possible thing she can to find him. looks for the play he was in, tries to find his email, talks to his old "friend" goes to his old address... everything. but then, when she quit looking, miracles happened.
