Everything on a Waffle
2nd Book Review
“Haven’t
you ever just known something deep in your heart without reason?” For some,
this may not have happened to them. But, for eleven-year-old Primrose Squarp,
this could never be truer.
One stormy night, Primrose’s father
gets lost at sea to a typhoon while fishing so her mother goes out to save him.
The only problem is, they don’t come back. As everyone mourns over their “death,”
Primrose doesn’t believe they’re gone. She always has that deep feeling in her
heart that someday they will come back.
While Primrose’s parents are missing,
she has quite the adventurous life. She first has to live with Mrs. Pefidy, but
then moves in with her Uncle Jack. Boy, she had quite the time, and many
memories, while living with him! The only thing that remains steady in her life
is her love for the diner, The Girl on the Red Swing, and the owner Kate
Bowzer. Now this isn’t a normal diner, here everything is served on a waffle. The
owner isn’t so normal herself. She never judges, or criticizes any of Primrose’s
decisions or actions. You could say Kate has taken Primrose under her wing.
Some of Primrose’s actions make the
neighbors question if her Uncle Jack is a suitable guardian for her. So, her
custody is given to the old couple, Bert and Evie. As things are starting to go
wrong in Primrose’s life, one amazing miracle will change it forever.
I love the detail you put in. I like how you didn't give to much away. I also like the ending sentence nice job!
