Book review #2
Cassia
Reyes has always lived in the Society, didn’t know anything different. The
Society controlled everything, what you ate, what you wore, what you did, who
you would be matched to, when you died. Everything, but that was natural for lots
of people since they were born in it. Just like Cassia Reyes, when she got
matched to one of her best friends Xander, she is over joyed and happy. But
when Cassia went to see what the courtship guidelines were for Xander and her,
it wasn't his picture that popped up it was someone else she knew, Ky.
Ever since she saw Ky’s picture instead of Xanders she’s been so worried
she didn’t know what to do. Cassia kept thinking of him, not Xander but Ky.
Then a few days later an official came and told Cassia it was a mistake, a
stupid joke. That she really is matched with Xander and not Ky. But even after
that she can’t get Ky out of her mind. When she signed up for hiking Ky was there,
and she was partnered with him. They started to talk and Ky gave her notes on napkins
about his past. Ky even starts teaching Cassia how to write in the dirt. Cassia
realizes that she’s in love with Ky. Will they get in trouble, what will the
Society do if they find out what Cassia and Ky are doing and are in love?

ISLAND
BOOK TWO: SURVIVAL
BY: GORDON KORMAN
Being lost and stranded
may strike most people as scary. Six kids, Luke, J.J., Charla , Will, Lyssa,
and Ian, washed up on a deserted island after their ship wrecked. Living
entirely off of bananas and coconut milk they signal any type of rescue.
After
one of their crew member, Will, suffers amnesia their main focus it trying to
restore his memory. Nothing seems to spark a light bulb, but when Will realizes
he is with a bunch of strangers he bolts for safety in the thick overgrown
forest.
Searching
for their friend, they heard a strange noise. It was a humming of an engine.
Curious they searched the island and found a plane. Overwhelmed with joy they
quickly rushed to the four passengers. Suddenly, everyone stopped in their
tracks. They had just heard a, BANG, and saw one of the passengers fall dead in
his tracks.
Having
to survive in a remote island, find a friend, and avoid these murders takes
every ounce of teamwork they have. When all to eat is bananas and coconuts, and
rain as their fresh water supply, doing work can be exhausting.
Football Legends Jerry Rice
Jerry Rice, arguably the best receiver to play in the
NFL, holds the all-time record for most receiving touchdowns in both a season
and a career.
He was born in rural Mississippi. He played college ball
at Mississippi valley state and had the 49ers wanting him bad. He was the 49ers
first pick in the 1985 NFL draft. Rice became the main target for quarterbacks,
Joe Montana and Steve Young. Jerry helped the Niners to win the 1989 and 1990 Superbowls.
This is a book for someone that likes football. I really
liked this book and I would recommend this to football fans.

else was out partying and drinking every night—because it is legal in Europe—she
was in her room watching TV. One day, everybody was going to a Shakespeare play
but in the long wait to the front of the building, her best friend, Mel, pretended
to have a heat stroke so they could go to a different play. There, Allyson meets
Willem. She got a coin from the show that he flipped at her.
Later, she and Willem meet again on a train. They instantly connect. He eventually asks her to go to Paris with him because she was ranting about how she didn't get to go to Paris on the trip to Paris. She says okay but is hesitant. Mel is super excited because Allyson is finally doing something bad. They plan it all out. They get only one day together. He gives her a tour around Paris and on a boat. For the night, they find an old art room on the 2nd story to sleep in. So they climbed. They slept there and when Allyson woke up the next day, and he was gone so she waited and waited and waited. He never came back. She ran out the door and onto the street trying to remember how to get around but failed. She eventually found a phone booth a couple blocks down. She called Mel’s aunt and, with her help, got to where she was supposed to be.
