Rules
By: Cynthia Lord
Twelve year old Catherine has a problem. All she wants is a
normal life, but that’s pretty hard when you have a brother with autism. She comes
up with rules for David. Such as, “If the bathroom door is closed, KNOCK. (Especially
if Catherine has a friend over!) Say thank you when someone gives you a present
even if you don’t like it. A boy can take off his shirt to swim, but not his
shorts. And no toys in the fish tank.”
As Catherine
struggles to keep David and her from embarrassment, she makes some new friends.
During the time, she discovers what exactly being normal is.
that book reminds me of my little brothers. I thought you did a good review though.
ReplyDeleteGood word choice. I think I might have to read this book. Sounds like something I would enjoy.
