            This book is about a kid named Grubbs who lives a normal life, one night his parents said they were going to a play. He then has to go to his aunts for the night. Grubbs then go back to his house to see if they were there. When he found his house he saw a light in the window. The doors were locked, so he crawled there the doggy door. He noticed that all the chess boards in the house were scratched up. He walked up the stairs and went into the room with the light and he saw his sister and his mom and dad dead. They were killed by the demon lord loss. After he calls the police he is sent to a mental hospital. During his stay his uncle takes him to where he lives. He learns that demons are real. He also learns that his best friend (Bill-E) is his brother, and that he is a werewolf. He then has to fight lord loss in a chess match to break his curse. He beats lord loss. Then he goes to live a normal life, or does he?
