Schooled

By: Gordon Korman

Capricorn Anderson or Cap, has lived on Garlamd Farm his whole life, with a hippie. But not just any hippie! This hippie, Rain, happens to be his grandmother who is also his school teacher/ mentor. While Picking plums, she falls out of a tree breaking her hip! When visiting the hospital, she learns that she has to spend a while there, which means Cap has no one to teach him his school. But, there is a solution for him, public school
Attending Claverage School (C Average School is what it's called by the students) isn't exactly easy for a kid who has long Sasquatch like blonde hair, wears tie-die clothing and practices T'ai chi on the school's lawn. Some kids, like Zach Powers and his gang, make it even harder for Cap.  They elect him as their eighth grade president, which isn't a good thing. It means you're pretty much the biggest nerd in the school. And no matter how much Zach and his gang tease him, Cap does nothing, not one single thing. He just remains calm because that's the way he was raised, with no hate. But as Cap starts to understand this new "world," the joke is now played on Zach.
From the heroic duty Cap did, people now are starting to respect him. As things begin to start to work out for Cap, things change. Rain is now healthy and can go back home, which means Cap has to leave his new amazing life. Back at home, all Cap can think about is all of his friends in C Average School. Will he go back to his new life, or stay in his old one?
