Perfect Chemistry fits into the romance, and /or young adult. Brittany Ellis labeled to be the perfect teenage girl who has worked to keep up her picture perfect image, while handling that her parents are thinking about sending her little sister, Shelly, to a home for disabilities. Alex Fuentes, whose Spanish heritage and gang ties throughout him and his whole family, which has caused him chaos. The school semester starts, for science class, Brittany and Alex are assigned each other as lab partners at, their school, Fairfield High School. They begin to despise one another, but hide there attraction they have for each other. Brittany knows that Alex’s reputation will threaten everything she has been working for to keep her perfect image.

Despite Alex’s actions and look, he is actually a very intelligent guy with his school work. After his father was murdered, Alex and his two brothers were raised by his mother. Alex only participated in the gang to ensure him that his younger brothers are not forced to be in it. But beyond all that he is a regular teenage boy that likes cars, soccer, and chemistry.

Alex second guesses himself about Brittany and his connection towards another. Brittany begins to open up about her life introducing him to her secret, her sister who has been diagnosed with cerebral palsy, but doubt returns once more knowing that the gang lifestyle that had claimed his father’s life is bound to claim his also. What will happen between Alex and Brittany? Do they have chemistry?
