Liar Liar
By Gary Paulsen
Published By James Bernardin
Liar Liar is a fiction book about a teenager named Kevin. Kevin is 14 and has a big problem, he lies to everybody and gets into trouble. He lies because he wants everybody to be happy. Kevin has two other friends Jon Paul and Jay D. Those two love baseball and get into a lot of trouble like Kevin does. They thought that if the AL won the World Series then the democrats would win the election. If the NL won then the Republican would win the election.
Kevin has had the hots for a girl named Katie. He lies to her so she will go out with him. He says that he is dyslexic and has mono. Katie doesn't by it and ignores Kevin. That same day, Kevin sees a girl named Tina that he has known since preschool. He sees her by the drinking fountain with her friends. Kevin sneaks into the art room to get a closer look. Tina sees Kevin; he is forced to come out of the room.

In my opinion when Kevin lies he’s making himself look worse. If you tell a girl that you have mono, they don’t want to touch you or be around you. And he would be in the hospital or at home. Kevin is making everything harder. Read Crush to see if Kevin will step up.
