Among the betrayed

By: Margret Peterson

This story is about a girl named Nina who is a third child that was given a fake ID and was sent to Hendricks school. Nina was thrown in jail for being a third child with her true love Jason or at least she thought he was her true love. Jason was working for the population police trying to turn third children in.

Once Nina was thrown in jail she was being questioned by a man that she called the hating man. While she was in jail she got one meal per day, which was a loaf of moldy bread and some water. Each day the hating man would come in and question Nina about her life before and her life with Jason. One day the man came in and showed her a tape recording of Jason, in this recording Jason was betraying Nina or at least that’s what she was made to believe. One morning she was thrown in jail with three kids that were caught for being shadow children also known as third children. Nina’s job was to tell the hating man all about them so he could kill them, but the question is does Nina betray the three kids or does she escape with them and go back to the place she calls safe?

In my opinion this book is a must read it is full of sadness and joy. The book is also full of good memories and bad memories too. Among the betrayed is also full of action and mystery.
