Cirque Du Freak Lord of Shadows Book 11 LAST REVIEW!

     This is the eleventh of the twelve books in the Cirque Du Freak series, written by Darren O' Shaughnessy about the Half-Vampire Prince Darren Shan. In this book Darren must return to his hometown, where it all began. This time the camp is in an abandoned football stadium instead of the theater. Darren takes a walk around town and sees his sister in his old home. He decides not to drag her into this.

     One night before a show a boy shows up and asks some questions. His name is Darius. Darren gives Darius and he and Harkat wait for Darius to show. Darren does see somebody he know but not Darius. Instead he sees his old friend Tommy Jones. Tommy has gone on to become a world renowned soccer player. They talk after the show and Tommy gives him a ticket to the semi finals.

     After the game Two more people that Darren knows show up. They kill someone, and Darren hunts them down to kill them. He follows them down an ally and is caught in a trap. There he sees Gannen Harst, The protector of the Vampaneze Lord. He is shot by an arrow and flees. He is taken in by homeless men who took him to their "Leaders" who turned out to be Debbie and Alice. They created an army of Vampirits, the Vampire version of Vampets, Darren later found out The Vampaneze Lord has Shancus, Evra the snake man's son, and make a deal to trade the Vampaneze Lord's son who they have captured, at the theater. Darren gets there and sees Shancus and they plan to trade, but instead the Vampaneze Lord kills Shancus.

Cirque Du Freak Book The Lake of Souls 10 Review 11

     This is the 10th book in the Cirque Du Freak books, Written by Darren Shan about the Half-Vampire Darren Shan. In this book Harkat is having recurring nightmares and  must go through a portal made by Mr. Tiny to stop them. Harkat tells Darren he is not allowed to go with him but much to Harkat's dismay Darren goes in right after him.

     In the portal is a grey desolate world. Harkat and Darren are given directions of where thy must go first. Their first task is to kill a black panther witch has a map of where they must go.After this the map guides them to steal from The World's Largest Toad. The toad is gaurded by crocodiles, but they zip through getting what they need. Next they had to cross a lake to meet a man named Spits Abrams, a former pirate and heavy drinker. From there they must get one other thing from the Kulashkas and the Grotesque. They enter the temple of the Grotesque and locate what they must take. After obtaining that they are attack by the Kulashkas and Grotesque. What will happen to Darren, Harkat and Spits? Read to find out.

Cirque Du Freak Killers of the Dawn Book 9 Review 10

     The ninth book in the Cirque du Freak series by Darren Shan is about the half-vampire Darren Shan. Darren's friend Steve had to leave for some important business, and Mr. Crepsly, Darren and Harkat Mulds, a little person created by Mr. Tiny, all go back to the sewers. There they meet up with Vancha in hopes of killing the Vampaneze Lord.


     In the sewers Mr. Crepsly, Darren, Harkat and Vancha take up arms left behind by some Vampaneze. They then set off in hopes of killing the Vampaneze Lord and ending the war once and for all. When they arrive in the room Gannon, Vancha's brother and protector of the Vampaneze Lord, The Vampaneze Lord and another Vampaneze was on a balcony and there were stakes below to help protect their Lord. The fighting begins and the Vampaneze Lord said that Darren must face him alone. Mr. Crepsly got up there instead and began fighting the Vampaneze Lord, Gannon and the other Vampaneze.


     Mr. Crepsly knocks the Vampaneze Lord off the balcony and then falls holding onto the other Vampaneze. Mr. crepsly agreed since he killed the Vampaneze Lord he would let the other Vampaneze live and let go. He started falling and the stakes grew closer and closer. Darren couldn't watch.

Cirque Du Freak Allies of the Night Book 8 Review 9

     This is the eight book in the Cirque Du Freak series about Darren Shan by Darren Shan. Darren, Harkat, Mr. Crepsly and Vancha March are going back to Vampire Mountain to tell the Counsel, Made up of the Vampire Princes, about their encounter with the Vampaneze Lord. Vancha stays there. After that they set off back to Mr. Crepsly's hometown. Mr. Crepsly leaves later for the funeral of an old friend leaving Darren and Harkat alone. There Darren gets mixed up with the police and is forced to leave the hotel eight hours every Monday through Friday.

     Going back to the hotel Darren is attacked by a Vampaneze when somebody comes along with Bow-guns, also known as Crossbows, shooting at it. Darren meets two old friends that he hasn't seen in about 12 years. They both join his search to stop the Vampaneze, even though they are both human. They chase the Vampaneze that tried to kill Darren into the sewers. In the sewers Darren and his allies are led into a trap and the Vampaneze Lord makes his second appearance. Darren tries to kill him but is stopped by somebody that he once knew. The hunters, Darren and his allies, are given the Vampaneze's word that they will be given safe passage to the surface if they leave immeadiatly.

Cirque Du Freak Vampire Prince Book 6

     This is the sixth book in the Cirque Du Freak Saga written by Darren Shan about Darren Shan. In this book Darren must make his way back to Vampire Mountain after escaping a traitor. He has failed his Trials of Death and has been sentenced to death. All of the Vampire Princes don't want to do this, but refuse to break tradition. So without breaking tradition they find a way to save him. They make him a Vampire Prince!

     After Darren falls down the body disposal into the river he his whipped away he must make his way back to Vampire Mountain. Along the way he reunites with some good friends of his. Rudy, Streak and the rest of their pack! he stays with them living like them for a while. He knew he must get back before the traitor takes over.

     Darren makes it back just in time to help save the clan, but he lost some friends and friends lost other important things. Then the Vampire Princes realize they still have to execute Darren. That is when they think up the loophole in their traditions. They make Darren a Vampire Prince.

Cirque Du Freak Trials of Death Book 5

     This is the fifth book in the Cirque Du Freak saga. Written by Darren Shan about Darren Shan. In this book Darren has been presented to the counsel and they have decided that Darren must prove himself as a true vampire through their ways. The Trials of Death. The Trials of Death are very dangerous tasks that vampires must do five of. They have taken about sixty trials out that Darren can't do at his age. Also the punishment for failing is death if you are not dead already. Will Darren survive the Trials of Death?

     Darren is trained for the trials by the mountains games master Vanez Blaze. For the first trial He has to make it through a maze. Not so hard right? Try having a rock tied to you that weighs half your weight, while the maze is filling up with water. When Darren is just about to admit defeat and let himself drown he finds the exit.

     For Darren's second trial Darren has to walk barefoot or crawl through a cavern known as the Path of Needles. It is a cavern that is filled with Stalactites and Stalagmites that can be big enough to be impaled on or as small as a cat's claw. Normally you get twenty-four hours of rest until the next trial but the Festival of the Undead begins after Darren's second trial and no official business is to go on during the the festival. Because of the festival, which lasts three days and Darren's twenty-four hours of rest Darren has four days of rest.

     For his next trial he has to survive fifteen minutes in a steel room. Except this steel room has jets in the floor that spout fire like geysers. This trial is called the Hall of Flames. This trial is voted by many vampires to be the hardest one. Just before the fire spurts the jets make a hissing sound for about two to three seconds. Darren barely survives this trial but does suffer from horrendous burns.

     The next trial Darren must pass is called the Blooded Boars. The object of this task is to kill two boars that are extremely violent because they have been injected with vampire blood. Darren is given a sword and a spear. As the battle rages on Darren kills one boar with the sword but is distracted by that. The other boar circled around Darren and was about to ram and kill him when someone shouted "NOOOO!" and jumped in the arena.

Cirque Du Freak Vampire Mountain Book 4

     This is the fourth book in the Cirque Du Freak saga about Darren Shan, the half Vampire, Written by Darren Shan. It has been eight years since Darren had been blooded or turn into a vampire, in this case half vampire. Darren and Larten Crepsly must venture to Vampire Mountain to present Darren to the vampire princes. This is six years after the events of Tunnels of Blood.


     Darren and Mr. Crepsly are at the Cirque Du Freak when Mr. Crepsly tells Darren about the trek to Vampire Mountain so Darren starts packing items like rope, thick clothes, boots etc. That's when Mr. Crepsly tells Darren that he can't bring any of that. Mr. Crepsly then says "The trek to Vampire Mountain is a tradition to the clan. No flitting, a super speed run, no shoes, vampires have very strong feet, and only one pair of clothes, grey sweatshirt and sweatpants. Before they leave Mr. Tiny, a man who can see all the possible paths the future can take, sends two little people, people that are stitched up, with them. Gavnur Pearl also goes with them.


     Along the trek fires are not aloud to be lit because it would raise curiosity in humans and give away their location on the trail. There are special resting zones with some coffins and a fire pit. The group of five was wandering for days before they found one but before that they were resting in a circle made of living growing trees. While there Darren went to a nearby stream to get water. He was startled by a pack of wolves across the stream. For a couple seconds the wolves stood growling bearing their teeth. then they stopped started sniffing the air. Then one of the males started crossing the stream! Once the wolf got to the side Darren was on it started licking him! Curious Darren walked back to Larten and Gavnur, and inquired about this. Larten then explained that wolves are friendly to vampires. The next day Darren named the male Streak, for the black streak across is belly, and his cub Rudy. Then they set in search for one of those Resting spots. After that resting spot the discover a bear that went insane from eating part of a vampaneze, Vampire and Vampaneze have poisonous blood, and Darren with the help of Lefty, a nickname Evra and Darren give a little person with a limp in his left leg, and the other little person who was crushed by the bear, killed the bear. That is when Lefty lowered his doctor mask with chemicals on it, five or six hours of breathing oxygen will kill a little person, and said "Name... Not... Lefty... Name... Harkat... Mulds." Harkat had trouble talking and had to catch his breath after every word.


     When they get to Vampire mountain they are greeted by Mr. Crepsly's former master Seba Nile. Seba takes them around to meet some other friends, Kurda Shmalt, a soon to be Vampire Prince, rulers of the vampires, Vanez Blaze, a one eyed games master, and Arra Sails, one of the few female vampires. After that Mr. Crepsly takes Darren before the Vampire council and it is decided he was blooded for no reason. It is also decided that he must prove himself worthy of being a vampire through the Trials of Death. If he fails he will be killed.

Cirque Du Freak Tunnels of Blood Book 3

     Tunnels of Blood is the third of twelve in the Cirque Du Freak series, The Saga of Darren Shan written by Darren Shan. In This story Darren finally meets Gavnur Pearl an old friend of Mr. Crepsly and a Vampire General. Later Darren and Larten Crepsly need to go to New York City and they invite Evra Von, a snake boy at the Cirque Du Freak, to go with them.

Once they get to the city they check into a hotel. While Larten goes out on strange trips at night Darren and Evra are sleeping. While Larten sleeps Darren and Evra enjoy themselves in the city. One day while shopping for a Christmas present Darren meets Debbie a girl from the square. They are almost instantly friends and later start dating.

 Then when human bodies are found drained of blood Evra and Darren become suspicious of Larten. One day they follow him and find out that he was trying to stop the killings. Mr. Crepsly tells Darren that a Vampaneze, like vampires but have purple skin, red eyes, and red fingernails, named Murlough is the killer. Then they realize Murlough kidnapped Evra. They go to the sewers and search to find Evra. Then Darren finds him but is captured too! Then Darren follows through on a plan he and Larten made he then offers Debbie’s life to save Evra! Evra says not to and then stops talking to Darren. Then Darren leads Murlough to Debbie’s house. There Mr. Crepsly stops Murlough. Then they go get Evra.

Cirque Du Freak The Vampire's Assistant Book 2

      Darren Shan has been blooded as a vampire and knows he must feed on a human of die in a couple weeks. He refuses because he is still part human being a half-vampire and doesn't want to give up his humanity. He doesn't know where he belongs until Larten Crepsly, also known as Vur Horston, sugests the Cirque Du Freak. Larten is a red haired vampire with a scar on the left side of his face and has made Darren his half-vampire assistant. After joining the Cirque Du Freak Darren meets two new friends. Evra Von, a snake boy preforming at the Cirque, and Sam Grest a boy from the nearby village. Later Darren, Evra, and Sam go exploring and meet a new friend, R.V. R.V. is an enviromentalist. Darren get R.V. and Sam tickets to the show and R.V. tries to free the wolf-man after the show. R.V. ends up running away in terror missing his arms from the elbow down. The wolf man gets free and to cut to the chase eats most of Sam. Darren drank the rest of Sam's blood (Drinking the rest of someone's blood keeps part of their soul alive in the vampire). The wolf man is caught and returned to the Cirque. Darren stays a few more months then leaves for his next destination, Vampire Mountain.

Cirque Du Freak Book 1

     Darren Shan is an ordinary schoolboy with ordinary friends. Darren's friends are Steve, Allen and Tommy. That all changes when the Cirque Du Freak comes to town. Two of the performers are a wolfman and a snakeboy. All of them want to go but there is a problem, they can only by two tickets. Darren and Steve get them. During the show Mr. Crepsly and Madam Octa, a performing spider, come on and Darren watches in awe because he loves spiders. Meanwhile Steve figures something out about Mr. Crepsly.
