Book review 6

Fangirl

Author: Rainbow Rowell

Cath and her twin sister, Wren, go to a university for the first time. They share their bedrooms and clothes ever since they were little, but then suddenly Wren decides to not attend the university anymore. So Cath has to deal with living in the university all on her own, with a stranger as her roommate, Reagan.

Being all alone without her sister she turns back to an old childhood obsession, the Simon Snow series. She doesn’t just read it she also writes fan fiction about two of the characters; Simon and Baz. She forgets the outside world. The only thing she knows how to do is write fan fiction which doesn’t really help her in a class with a fiction-writing teacher.

The only thing Cath worries about is her father; leaving him all alone, since Cath’s mother left when Cath and Wren were children.  Cath needs to focus on her own life, will she stop obsessing over the Simon Snow series? Or will she stay trapped in her comfort zone.
