Maniac Magee

Book review

            Maniac started out, with his aunt and uncle that hate each other and fight for time with maniac but they have to settle being together with him. Then one day he ran away from home and when he was going down the street running he said hi to everyone. When he got to the east end he saw a girl with a suit case so he stops in front of her and said hi and she said hi back. Maniac asked what was in the suit case she said book maniac asked for one and she stopped and said no but he keep asking and she said you don’t even know me so he told her his name and she shook his hand and said Amanda then maniac said I know you so can I borrow a book. Amanda throws a book at him and she was late that day for the first time ever.

            Maniac goes to stay at the Beal’s house and every day before everyone gets up he runs with their dog bow wow and one night he gets up before bow wow and he runs and does not stop he comes home around midnight and goes to bed but one day he leaves and stays the night at the buffalo pen and the Grayson finds he and feed him and took care of him then maniac lives in the baseball equipment room. Grayson moves in with maniac and they spend a lot of time together of thanksgiving they were all stuffed after they ate and they went to bed on Christmas Grayson gives maniac his glove he used in the minors. But that night Grayson pasts away and maniac leaves and goes back to the buffalo pen and then he stays at the mcnabb house.

            At the end of the book mars bar comes to the buffalo pen and asks maniac if he wanted to walk around. They went around the zoo and mars bar asks maniac what’s in every pen. But when they get back to the buffalo pen maniac jumps the fence and Amanda comes and tells him to get out of there and come home. But maniac says no because things happen. But Amanda says she did not come out there in the cold and the middle of the night to get told no. So Amanda jumps the fence and pulls maniac up and tells him come on now! So maniac jumps the fence and goes home with Amanda.

            The last part is the best because things finally go good for maniac and he has a family that cares for him. My favorite part is at the end when maniac says finally I have somebody calling me home.
