2: Rise of the Evening Star

This book is a
great follow up to the first Fablehaven book. It is just as, if not more
exciting than the first book was. In the beginning Seth feeds a frog statue. It
seems harmless at first, but then it comes to life and does not rest until it
has eaten the person who fed it. One day Seth goes out into the woods with his
Grandpa’s friend, Coulter Dixon, to try and defeat a revenant, to get to something
that supposedly has great magical powers. Coulter is nearly killed, but Seth is
stuffed into an impenetrable container. The frog statue eats him like a pill,
and eventually is freed by natural causes. Seth then escapes with a courage
potion and defeats the revenant. A team then goes into the vault to get the artifact.
They face traps, and at the end they have to kill a giant demon cat. They
succeed and everything is at peace once more. I recommend this book to anybody.
It is a great book.
