Cirque Du Freak the Lake of Souls

Cirque Du Freak the Lake of Souls
By: Darren Shan
Book review
Cirque Du Freak the Lake of Souls is the tenth book in the series. In this book, Darren needs to go to the Lake of Souls to help his friend Harkat find out who he was before he became a Little Person. Near the end of the book Darren and Harkat find out that that they’re not in the present time, as they were when they went into the Lake of Souls. They are now in the future. This is my least favorite book in the series but I still like it.

The Tale of Despereaux

Despereaux was not a normal mouse. He was born with his eyes opened, he did not scurry and he had strangely large ears than the others. Despereaux was the only mouse that fell in love with the princess Pea. Since the whole mouse community figured out he was not normal he was sent to the cellar to be killed by the Rats.

Chiaroscuro was a rat, who did not behave like a normal rat. He was drawn to light, and despite his community insisting that rats belong in the dungeon. It was his foray out of the dungeon and into the light that indirectly caused the Queen's death and therefore further persecution of rats.

Miggery Sow was a human had a very injured soul. Sold by her father to a man who beat her head until her ears became deformed, she sees the princess one day as a child and develops a dream that she can be a princess one day. Uneducated and clearly challenged, she does not understand that a common person can never become a princess.

In this book you will find out all of these characters life stories :)
