Fatality
By: Caroline B. Cooney
Rose is a “perfect” girl or at least
that is what everyone thinks. She keeps her grades up, stays out of people’s
way, and does what her parents tell her to do. She stole a police car to
protect her diary that tells all. she has her own secret to keep and other
pople want to know the secret… but maybe she is protecting the wrong secret.
Roses
parents expect so much of her so when thaey found that she had stolen a police
car, they didn’t know what to do. Roses friends didn’t know what to do either.
Rose Lymond stealing anything or doing anything against any rules was
completely unheard of. She would not even think to steal a pencil. Her brother,
Tarbor, only cared that he wasn’t getting the spotlight in the family and that
she had finally done something bad and is out running him. He just wants to be
in the spotlight. Her brother’s band
buddy, Alan, heard about it and didn’t belive one word, yet her was determined
to protect her and keep her out of trouble for Tarbor.
Throughout
the whole book, Rose uses silence in her favor. She remembered on television,
they always would say “You have the right
to remain silent. Everything you say can and will be used against you.” She
knows her rights and she knows that they have no right to steal her diary
without her permission because it is her property. She knows that she has the
right to remain silent. But this secret can have something to do with a murder.
Rose
might be trying to protect a different secret… a secret that might kill her
father. Will the police ever leave her alone?
Nicely done, Lanee ;)
