The Strange
Case of
Dr. Jekyll
and Mr. Hyde
By: Robert
Louis Stevenson
The
Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is a short book by Robert Louis
Stevenson about a British lawyer named Mr. Utterson who was going to go see his
old friend Dr. Henry Jekyll. Henry Jekyll is a kind and civil man and most
respected man in England. It was late at night when Mr. Utterson made it to
Jekyll’s town but he saw something that night that he could never forget. He
saw a monster who had brutally stomped a little girl and an old man to death
for no reason.
Now
the Mr. Utterson had proof that the foul twisted monster was Mr. Hyde (the
inner rage) had beat the old man and the little girl to death, but Hyde was Dr.
Jekyll in a different form. Mr. Utterson went to Dr. Jekyll’s house that
morning when he hears that Jekyll was making a tincture but when he drank it he
released his inner rage.
People
begin to hate Dr. Jekyll for what he did but they didn’t have enough evidence
to throw Jekyll into prison, but they knew what Hyde had done. The only person
who has respect Jekyll is his soon to be wife Poole. Poole knows what happens
to Jekyll and how he becomes Hyde but she does not want to believe that he is a
murder. Can Mr. Utterson clear his friends name and stop Mr. Hyde once and for all
or will Mr. Hyde continue his rampage?
So
think about it the next time some gets you mad and you look down at you
clenched fists. Think about it the next time your temper explodes and you reach
for something to throw or break. Think about it the next time you’re grounded,
or you get blamed for something you didn’t do, or you get so furious that your
teeth are clenched. Down there, down there in the dark. You’re in control. You
know you are, but the question is dose Hyde know it too?
This book sounds really good I loved the detail that was put in. I like how you left the reader hanging nice job!
ReplyDeleteWhen you say it's a short book, do you mean something like 150 pages? I liked your use of character description, but I see unneeded PARENTHESES!
ReplyDeleteLove the spin you put on it at the end! Absolutely love the repetition for effect ;)
