David Crandall's Mother was murdered two years ago and with no clues,no witnesses, and no 

motive, the police were never able to solve the crime. While David has struggled to get through 

with his life, the lingering doubt remains: Could someone in the small town know something, 

anything, that they're not disclosing.

Now, at the beginning of his senior year at the arsenal, David begins to find troubling clues of a 

deep family secret that includes embezzlement. could his mothers death be connected to this 

scandal? Then one night David spies his father hurrying out into a rainstorm to bury an old rifle 

in a deserted lot near his house. Now he is left with a horrible doubt: Is his father the killer? He
