Don’t Die, My Love

Julie and Luke have been together since they were both fourteen. Julie fell for Luke when he showed up on her door step with a bouquet of flowers, and she looked into his deep brown eyes. They have been together ever since. Then one night when Julie and Luke are out with another couple, Solena and Frank, Julie notices that Luke has a lump on his neck. After days of talking to him about it she finally convinced him to go get it checked out. It turned out that Luke had a rare type of cancer called, Hodgkin’s. It is very rare. Luke learns to overcome his cancer and go back to a “normal” life. Then when Luke’s cancer was doing okay, Luke took Julie to go see his uncle in California. He gave Julie a promise ring that said when he gets better and Julie graduates from college they would get married. Then after the month in California Luke’s cancer came back stronger and more deadly. After a few weeks of trying to find a bone marrow donor, Luke was taken into surgery. He died during the surgery. Julie was devastated. She didn’t eat, go to school, or hang out with friends for a month after Luke’s funeral. But then she started getting a grip that Luke was gone and what he would want her to do is keep going and living her life. Even if he couldn’t be there with her.
