A 13 year old boy, John Borne is about to loose his grandpa to cancer. His grandma and him have to do the chores and to John it a daily routine, but not as easy.
Hunting season is coming near and John cant stop day dreaming  about going hunting. But this year he has to hunt alone, because his grandpa cant make the long walk this year. Every past hunting year didn't  mean to show manliness or how good of a shot you are. It is to keep food in the the refrigerator.
While he is hunting this year by himself he gets a new perspective about killing.
