The Land of Stories The Wishing Spell

The Land of Stories
The Wishing Spell
By Chris Colfer

In a world full of hurt, Alex and Conner Bailey are going through hard family problems. Their father passed away about a year ago. To help the twins find enjoyment again, their grandma gave them a book that lets the twins go into a land of fairy tales. Alex was up all night one night trying to understand why the book was making a buzzing noise. During that one night she kept dropping all her pencils in the book to see what would happen. So after school, the twins stepped into the book not knowing what would happen to them. What the twins don't know is that they might not return to the real world.

When the twins arrive in this new world, they meet a frog who wasn't always a frog. In order to get home they have to find all the items of the Wishing Spell. The twins also don't know that they aren't the only ones looking for the items. The Evil Queen has sent the Huntsman’s daughter to find the items on the list. If she doesn't receive all the items, the daughter and the father will be killed.

On the twin’s journey they meet up with all of the princesses and have a great time. On one stop, they end up in the bottom if the Mermaid Bay. All the stories the heard of when they were kids, they experienced, like being captured by trolls to getting to spend the day with Cinderella was a dream come true for Alex. Like most stories, in the end someone always gets what they want and that person was the Evil Queen. She received all the items but her wish took an unsuspected turn.

  1. This book sounds amazing. I like how you put just enough detail in but not to much. I really like the last sentence good job.

  4. I love your first sentence, it sounds like it should be the starting line of a narrated movie.
