 What happened: Starting where book 2 left off, Will and Evanlyn were captured by Erak a wolf ship captain and a senior Jarl. Halt being the ranger that he is, decides to take after them, OFF TO SKANDIA!! Horence some how gets off training to be a knight and accompanies Halt on his journey to find his friends. Halt and Horence have to travel through Galicia (it vaguely reminded me of Mexico) to get a ship. On the way they had to keep on defeating road side warriors as their called. As he defeats them, he takes their armor and horses. When they ride into the nearest town, they have a trail of ten or so horses and boat load of armor. Mean while, in Skandia Will is put to work as a yard slave a.k.a a death sentence. A yard slave goes through hard manual labor in harsh living conditions where Evanlyn is a kitchen servant where she has a warm bed, a fair meal, and stays indoors. Can Evanlyn and Will make it or will they die as slaves.
