In this book, a kid named Tomas has his memory wiped and he
is thrown into a gigantic maze. He finds out that all the boys there had their
memories wiped when they first came. They tell him that he lives in a gigantic
maze that hasn't been solved in the two years that they have lived there. This
is partially because there are gruesome creatures in the maze called grievers,
which are basically robotic slugs that can kill you very easily with just a
prick of the spikes on their back. Also, the walls keep shifting around in a
pattern, repeating itself every month.
Then some weird things start happening. Such
as, normally, one boy arrives once a month. But two days after Tomas arrives, a
girl arrives too. This is the first time ever that this had happened. Soon
after that, the walls that protect them from the grievers disappeared, so they
have nearly no way to protect themselves. Can they figure out how to get out of
the maze? Or will they die trying?
